Carly Rae Jepsen's gone and made herself a double album, which is the kind of ambitious move that keeps pop music interesting when it could so easily coast along on autopilot. Day and Night sounds like it's got some serious creative hands on deck, and that's exactly the sort of collaborative energy that tends to produce something worth your time. If you've been sleeping on Jepsen lately, this might be the moment to dive back in, because a double album from someone this thoughtful about songcraft is never just filler.
