Guitarricadelafuente's dipping his toes into film work with an original track for La Bola Negra, Spain's official Oscar submission, and that's rather a big deal for a musician who's already carved out a distinctive space in the Spanish music scene. The fact that he's sharing songwriting duties on a project with some seriously heavyweight acting talent like Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close suggests this isn't just a vanity project, but something with genuine artistic ambition behind it. For Cledvibes Radio listeners who've been following his work, this feels like a natural next step for an artist willing to experiment beyond the expected boundaries of what a contemporary Spanish musician should be doing.
