That's the kind of heavyweight metal lineup that reminds us why Brooklyn's become such a hotbed for serious rock music over the past decade or so. Mastodon, Deafheaven and Alcest together on one bill is genuinely the sort of thing that gets metal heads from all over the city converging on one venue, and by all accounts it sounds like it delivered the goods. If you're into expansive, ambitious metal that takes itself seriously without being humourless about it, this tour sounds like something worth tracking down, and it's exactly the sort of thing our listeners care about when it comes to live music that actually pushes boundaries.
