Well this is a rather unexpected pairing, isn't it? Michael Shannon taking to the road with a guitarist to play through R.E.M.'s Document in full sounds like the sort of leftfield venture that could either be absolutely brilliant or completely bewildering, and honestly we're intrigued to find out which. For Cledvibes Radio listeners who grew up with R.E.M., seeing the album celebrated in this theatrical, actor-led context might just offer a fresh way to hear those songs you thought you knew inside out. It's the kind of quirky, unconventional tribute that reminds us why independent radio exists in the first place, so we'll absolutely be keeping an eye on how this one develops.
