Ryley Walker – “Carrier”
Ryley Walker's got a lot on his plate at the moment, hasn't he? The guitarist's jumped into Gift Horse's synth-laden world while also dropping fresh solo material through his new label home, and "Carrier" sounds like it could be exactly the kind of inventive instrumental work that keeps him so compelling. For Cledvibes Radio listeners who dig intricate guitar work and aren't afraid of a bit of experimental headiness, Walker's juggling act between these projects is worth keeping tabs on. Both the Gift Horse collaboration and whatever he's cooking up solo seem to be pushing him in interesting directions.
From Stereogum: Earlier this month, Ryley Walker announced he joined electronic band Gift Horse to shred over their trippy synths. Their new record A Career In Architecture is on the way, but now the guitar virtuoso is sharing a new solo track called "Carrier," his first release on his new label home AD 93.
