Well, this is a proper left turn we weren't expecting. Sturgill Simpson tackling INXS is the kind of cross-genre curveball that either lands brilliantly or falls flat on its face, and honestly, we're intrigued. The man's got the chops to make something interesting out of it, and there's definitely something appealing about a country-rooted artist mining the 80's pop archive for inspiration. If nothing else, it's a reminder that the best covers come from artists willing to wander well outside their lane.
