The Flaming Lips are dusting off one of their finest hours with this anniversary reissue, and honestly it's a timely reminder that this band once made genuinely thrilling records. At War With The Mystics found them at a creative sweet spot where they could be both experimental and accessible, something worth revisiting when any band hits choppy waters. For Cledvibes Radio listeners who grew up with the Lips as the soundtrack to their late nights and road trips, there's something comforting about getting your hands on unreleased material from an era when they really had it all figured out.
