William Shatner at a festival doing heavy metal covers is the kind of thing that shouldn't work but absolutely does, and honestly that's rather brilliant. There's something refreshingly unpretentious about a legendary actor just getting stuck in with the classics from Ozzy, Motörhead and Metallica without taking himself too seriously. For Cledvibes Radio listeners who love music that doesn't fit neatly into boxes, this is exactly the sort of left-field energy we can get behind. If the new album lives up to the festival performance, it might just be worth a spin.
